About this file

This document is a Sources Sought notice for a federal contract opportunity to provide fire protection for the Dexter building at the Lookout Point Dam in Oregon. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division, Portland District is seeking responses from industry, including large and small businesses, to provide a hybrid water mist fire suppression system as an alternative to the existing sprinkler system during low water draw down periods.

The project objectives include installing a water tank and nitrogen system to protect a 10,000 SF building and warehouse, demolishing the existing sprinkler and fire alarm systems, and providing new detection and alarm systems. The government is looking for feedback on potential solutions and is interested in responses by November 21, 2024. The acquisition strategy is expected to be Design-Build, with a construction contract award in January 2026 and completion by the end of 2026/early 2027. The estimated construction cost is between $1-5 million. Maximum small business participation is being sought at both the prime and subcontracting levels.
