About this file

This is a technical drawing specification document prepared for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Engineering District 5-1 for traffic signal installation at two locations in Berks County: Ben Franklin Highway & Old Airport Road and Ben Franklin Highway & Monocacy Creek in Amity Township. The document provides a phasing, timing, and color sequence chart for traffic signal operations, detailing signal timing parameters across two phases with specific intervals for red (R), yellow (Y), and green (G) indications. The specification includes fixed time settings of 5.5 seconds and 1.5 seconds for Phase 1, with minimum intervals of 10 and 5 seconds respectively, maximum intervals of 20 seconds, and passage times of 5 seconds. Additional timing parameters are specified including minimum gap, maximum gap of 42 and 125 seconds, and memory settings.

The drawing specifications reference State Route 0422 Segment 0621 Offset 0802 and State Route 2049 Segment 0010 Offset 0191, with legal right-of-way lines and off-way lines clearly delineated. The document establishes the technical requirements for loop detector sensors that will be procured and installed under the related Invitation for Bid for traffic signal control equipment at the identified intersections. These specifications serve as the engineering foundation for contractor bids on the furnish and install loop detector sensor project in Berks County.
