Notes:

1. Casting to be testing in shop at 200#/SQ. In Hydrostatic pressure.

2. When backside of flanges are not machined, spot facing for all boltheads and nuts is required. This spot face shall not cut more than 1/32 inch below the minimum flange thickness.

3. The machine surface finish of mating surfaces on flanges shall be as follows:

A. Flanges size 12” and below must have a finish with a circular lay (concentric or phonographic) of 125 to 1000 RHR produced by machining 30 to 80 cuts of uniform depth per inch of face width.

B. Flanges over a nominal size of 12” to be same as above except that 21 to 80 cuts per inch of face width shall be used.

4. All flanges are in accordance with MIL-F-20042.

5. The foundry’s name or trademark, the item number (“Item X”) and DWG number (4326543), 100 PSI, and the size are to be cast in ½” raised letters on each casting; also each casting is to be provided with a 1/16” min. thk. raised pad for the heat number and non-destructive test information. Pad to be about 1-3/4”x2”.

Notes 6 & 7 are not used.

10. In Addition to the hydrostatic test reqd in note #1, each casting is to receive visual inspection in accordance with reference 7 (4400501)

11. Tolerances for the center to end, branch location and flange O.D. Dimensions for the Sea Chest Castings are to be as shown in table:
