About this file
This Statement of Work outlines requirements for an interface cable to connect legacy radiation detection probes to a new Radiological Detection System. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division requires 3700 interface cables over five years, with 50 cables in the base year and increasing quantities in subsequent option years. The contractor shall design, manufacture, and deliver the cables in accordance with applicable technical specifications. The contractor must also provide various project reports, test plans and results, training documentation, and logistics data to support manufacturing and sustainment over the product lifecycle. This pre-solicitation notice seeks information from interested parties to support release of a formal solicitation for the interface cable requirement.

Radiological Detection System DT-304/PDR and DT-643(intentionally left blank)/PDR Legacy
Probe Interface Acquisition
Statement of Work (SOW)
Background: The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD), Radiation Detection Technology
Branch (RDTB) Code 631 in collaboration with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA 09RD), requires an interface to connect the Thermo Fisher Scientific Frisker Probe, DT-304/PDR and DT-643(intentionally left blank)/PDR, legacy radiation detection probes (herein referred to as “legacy probes”) to the new Radiological
Detection System (RDS). The RDS is a collection of rugged Radiation, Detection, Indication, and Computation
(RADIAC) meters intended to replace the Navy’s legacy RADIAC survey meters. Due to specific end-use requirements, the Navy intends to utilize the existing legacy contamination probes with the RDS base unit. A compatible interface between the legacy probes and the RDS is needed to accurately measure radioactive contamination. RDS to legacy probe interfaces are herein referred to as “interfaces”.
