About this file

This is a Requirements/Specification Document for the procurement of a 50 GHz Vector Network Analyzer to replace an existing Rohde and Schwarz model ZVA50 that has reached end of service life. The requestor is NIST's Communications Technology Laboratory, Radio Frequency Technology Division, Electromagnetic Fields Group (672.02). One unit is required with delivery to NIST-Boulder at 325 Broadway, Boulder, CO 80305, with direct delivery to an operational unit building required. Acceptance is expected to exceed seven business days, with a set of validation measurements to be performed on-site within three weeks after delivery.

The replacement vector network analyzer must meet specific technical requirements including: operation from 10 MHz to 50 GHz; four test ports with 2.4 mm male ruggedized connectors; front panel access to IF, generator, and receiver; dedicated rear panel local oscillator access for external mmWave frequency converters; on-board Time Domain analysis capability; integrated support for external Rohde and Schwarz mmWave frequency converters; precision frequency reference with aging of ±10⁻⁷ per year and temperature drift of ±10⁻⁸; and a 2-way Wilkinson power divider operating from 4 GHz to 27 GHz. Demo models are acceptable if manufacturer warranty and calibration services are included. Vendors must possess an active Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) and an active Unique Entity Identification Number (UEI) registered on SAM.gov at time of award. The procurement requires a 2-year extended manufacturer warranty covering labor and parts, and a 3-year extended calibration plan including two scheduled calibrations.
