About this file

This document is a Draft Summary of Work for a James River Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Task Order 1 for dredging operations. The project involves maintenance dredging on two specific channel segments of the Upper James River: Richmond Deepwater Terminal Channel and Richmond Deepwater Terminal to Hopewell Channel. The contractor will dredge these channels to specified depths (-22 and -25 Feet Mean Lower Low Water) with one foot of overdepth allowed, completing the work within 240 calendar days after receiving notice to proceed.

The Bid Schedule outlines 11 line items with estimated quantities, including mobilization/demobilization, dredging at two channel locations totaling 300,000 cubic yards, pipeline installation, transportation, sitework, and standby time. The work order requires a Before Dredging survey for each acceptance section, with the Government providing drawings indicating dredging locations, required depths, and available pay volume. The dredging will be performed in two sequential stages: first the Richmond Deepwater Terminal Channel, then the Richmond Deepwater Terminal to Hopewell Channel.
