About this file
This Scope of Work details a generator relocation project for the Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam in Augusta, Georgia. The project involves supplying and installing a new 48 kW propane-fueled generator set, 1,150-gallon propane fuel tank, and automatic transfer switch (ATS) on a new elevated steel platform. Key requirements include relocating the generator from inside the Lock Operations Building to an exterior platform, with specific structural, mechanical, and electrical installation specifications. The project has a 180-calendar day performance period and requires detailed submittals, including shop drawings, product data, and qualification documentation within 4 weeks of notice to proceed.
The scope includes comprehensive technical requirements for the generator system, such as a 277/480V three-phase generator with remote communication capabilities, grounding specifications, and specific testing protocols. The contractor must provide a quality control plan, follow strict safety requirements, and conduct thorough operational testing. Additional site work involves installing an 8-foot high-security fence, removing parking spaces, and managing site landscaping. The project also requires 8 hours of operation and maintenance training, with the generator having a minimum 24-month warranty from the date of registered commissioning and start-up.
