What:
Generator replacement project
Where:
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Site Otay Mt. 32.600729, -116.84102
Why:
The existing back-up generator at the site is not functioning and beyond economical repair (BER). FAA Logistics Center (FAALC) is requesting an on-site assessment and possible power study be performed that will result in a recommendation for a replacement generator and associated power components to be installed so that the site can have stable backup power due to unforeseen power outages or rolling blackouts. Removal of disposal of the existing generator will also be included within the scope of this project. The FAALC would prefer the replacement generator be under 50Hp to avoid the San Diego emissions permitting, but a site assessment and possible power study will be necessary to prior to the replacement project to determine necessary site backup power requirements. Contractor is responsible for all local/state permitting for this project. Contractor should be prepared to provide labor, tools, materials, certifications, and permits to successfully complete this project.
Other Details:
FAA is requesting and Appleton style external generator plug of appropriate size/voltage capacity to be installed at the site in the event the permanent generator fails during operation. This will allow a portable generator to be delivered and connected as a means of supplying power in the event grid power outage and permanent standby generator failture.
Security Details:
Law enforcement vetting forms and pre-coordination will be necessary before any on-site visits are performed.
