The primary requirement is for brand name or equal to TSI 8048 PortaCount Respirator Fit Tester, a quantitative fit-testing device that must comply with OSHA and ANSI standards for tight-fitting respirators.
The equipment must be capable of fit-testing multiple respirator types including full-face and half-face elastomeric respirators, NIOSH series 100, 99, and 95 filtering-facepiece respirators (including disposable N95s), and European FFP1, FFP2, and FFP3 respirators. Key performance specifications include a maximum fit factor of 10,000 (200 for disposable N95s), test completion time of 2-5 minutes, and an onboard touchscreen with options for external tablet or laptop connectivity. The device must feature internal memory capable of storing a minimum of 1,000 fit-test results and include non-destructive N95 testing capability without probe insertion. Portability is essential, with maximum weight limits of 8 pounds for the unit and 16 pounds including all accessories. Additional requirements include NIOSH-certified mask sampling adapter kits and TRM-approved software or software capable of obtaining TRM approval.
