About this file

This is a draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) for T-28 aircraft services at the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Air Show, scheduled for May 1-4, 2025. The contractor must provide one T-28 "Trojan Thunder" aircraft along with all necessary personnel, equipment, and materials for the air show performance. Key requirements include an original registered T-28 with verified tail number, a pilot certified in aerobatics with military airshow experience within the last 5 years, current FAA licensing, and formation flying proficiency.

The PWS specifies that the pilot must be available for public interaction when not performing flight duties and capable of presenting STEM-related content. The government will provide lodging and ground transportation but no deposits, with payment made as a single lump sum within 30 days after performance. Notable desired qualifications include recent experience with George Cline (contracted Air Boss), prior experience at Seymour Johnson AFB airshows, and knowledge of T-28's historical significance to the 4th Fighter Wing. The related Sources Sought notice indicates this requirement falls under NAICS code 711510 (Independent Artists, Writers, and Performers), and interested contractors must be registered in SAM.gov.
