• Be compatible/interchangeable within the specified product line, and
• Meet the “like-new” acceptance standard in Paragraph D.
C. Remanufactured Office Furniture (Case Goods, Storage, Conference, Seating as Ordered)
Remanufactured office furniture means previously used office furniture (e.g., private office components, case goods, filing/storage, conference tables, credenzas, bookcases, and seating when included in the TO/DO) that is restored through a comprehensive rebuild and refinishing process to achieve like-new condition and full intended functionality.
Remanufactured office furniture may include, as applicable:
• Structural repair and restoration to original load-bearing capacity
• Full refinishing of exposed surfaces (including low-VOC finishes suitable for occupied spaces)
• Replacement of damaged or worn components (hardware, pulls, hinges, slides, locks, glides)
• Re-lamination or replacement of damaged worksurfaces where required
• Upholstery replacement or re-covering (if included in the TO/DO) using commercial-grade textiles meeting specified durability and IAQ requirements
Remanufactured office furniture shall meet the “like-new” acceptance standard in Paragraph D.
D. Like-New Condition (Acceptance Standard)
Like-new means the furniture is delivered and installed in a condition that is visually uniform and fully operational, with no material defects that would be unacceptable in new commercial office furniture, including but not limited to: structural instability, significant dents, rust/corrosion, delamination, cracked laminate, misaligned panels/frames, torn/sagging fabric, binding drawers, non-functioning locks, missing parts, or unsafe/non-functioning electrical components.
E. Reconfiguration
Reconfiguration means modifying the layout or configuration of reuse furniture and/or remanufactured systems furniture to meet project requirements by rearranging panels, frames, worksurfaces, storage, and accessories. Reconfiguration may include adding/removing components provided the resulting installation meets applicable codes, IRS standards, and manufacturer (or equivalent) design/engineering intent.
F. Similar Products (For Exchange Credits)
Similar products mean functionally comparable furniture within the same general category (e.g., systems workstations for systems workstations; filing/storage for filing/storage; case goods for case goods), consistent with FMR 102-39 and Government direction in the applicable
TO/DO.
