Specifications for
Large Laser Marking Machine at
Arnold Air Force Base, TN Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC)
Provide all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to provide a new fully functional Laser Marking Machine. Refurbished or remanufactured parts are not authorized for this requirement.
• Machining Capabilities o Markings on Carbide, Copper, Plastics, Steels and Rubber
• Worktable o Workpiece size (minimum) 8” H x 40” W x 25” D with table for optional mounting hardware o Laser marking area of 30” X 15” o Removable table for marking parts up to 30” in height
• Controls o Machine shall be equipped with PC and Software to mark QR Data metrics and Bar Codes o Ethernet Capabilities o Remove/Disable Wi-Fi connection
• General o Rail Docking System 7 position with docking plate fixture kit o Motorized Z Axis for height positioning o Auto X Axis with precision Servo driven ball screw providing high positioning accuracy and repeatability, smooth movement and long service life o Digital Scan Head o Capability to put parts through cabinet for long parts o Precision pneumatic rotary union o At least 1” diameter pass through o Automated Tag System with tag sizes up to 3” x 4” with minimum thickness of

• The contractor shall provide:
o Machine shall be built to NFPA 70 and operate with AEDC power system which is 110V o Machine shall include air regulator, air oiler and air filter if required to operate on 150psi air system o Machine shall include lifting, leveling, and floor attachment hardware o Operating Manual, Electrical Manual, Mechanical Manual, & Schematics o Standard tooling package tool holders applicable for this machine o Operating license and any additional software needed
• Warranty o This machine shall be warranted against any defects in material, parts, and workmanship for 24 months after the date of installation
• Maintenance, Parts, and Service o The Contractor or local qualified representative shall be capable of responding to a repair service call on-site within 36 hours and repair parts delivery within 48 hours after placement of order
• Packaging/Delivery o Provide all preservation, packaging, and packing to ensure safe delivery of the machine and related components to AEDC (FOB Arnold Air Force Base, TN 37389)
• Installation/Training o The installation will be at the Arnold Air Force Base, TN.
o Installation of the machine shall be accomplished by Government personnel and supervised by a factory trained technician.
This service shall be included in machine cost; An installation kit shall be provided in machine cost.
o Initial training on machine features and operation (8 hours) shall be done beginning at machine startup following machine installation (for 6 personnel) and shall be included in machine cost.
