About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document related to a Colorado state and local contract opportunity (DQ1 2016_0219) for aquaculture equipment specifications, specifically addressing clarifications on fish rearing tanks, UV disinfection systems, dissolved oxygen monitoring and control systems, and tank drainage components. The document provides technical specifications and acceptable parameters for bidders submitting proposals, including tank dimensions not exceeding 28 inches in height and 60 inches in diameter with a minimum 250-gallon capacity, UV dosage minimums of 50 mJ/cm² with no maximum limit, dissolved oxygen probe cable lengths of four feet or longer, drain specifications requiring 4-inch diameter openings, and tank leg/stand heights between 8 and 12 inches.
The Q&A document clarifies that tank wall thickness can be reduced to 3/16 inches provided other dimensional and capacity requirements are met, and it establishes that all freight costs must be bundled into the total cost for each line item rather than submitted separately. These specifications and cost treatment requirements are binding parameters for all bidders responding to this solicitation.

Q&A:
1. Fish Rearing Tanks: We are not finding a tank model that meets all of the specs. We do have one that meets the dimensions, but the thickness is only 3/16". Can you provide a manufacturer, or perhaps an acceptable range of dimensions and/or capacity?
3/16” thickness will be acceptable. Tank must be no more than 28” high and no more than 60” in diameter, and have a minimum capacity of 250 gallons.
2. UV Dose Input: Can dosage exceed the 50 mJ/cm2 spec? If so, is there a maximum dosage rate?
50 mJ/cm2 is the minimum dosage. There is no maximum dosage.
3. Dissolved Oxygen M&C: Our M&C panel can receive input from 4 probes. What would be the distance from our central M&C panel to each of the 4 probe locations? We need this to determine if our standard cables will suffice?
The tops of the tanks will be approximately 2 feet from the M&C panel. Four foot or longer probes should be sufficient
4. Re tanks - what are the specs for the drain and the legs/stand?
Drains need to be 4” in diameter. Legs/stand must have a minimum height of 8” and maximum height of 12”.
5. Where do we account for freight? Are we to bundle freight costs into the total cost for each line item?
Please include freight costs with the total cost for each line item.
