About this file
This is an Amendment #1 to Invitation for Bid (IFB) #3160007073 issued by the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) for Language Interpretation & Translation Services. The solicitation seeks a single vendor to provide comprehensive language services including over-the-phone interpretation (OPI), video remote interpreting (VRI), written translation, and American Sign Language (ASL) services. Bids are due by March 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM CT, and the contract will be awarded to one vendor capable of providing all requested services. The current service provider is Propio Language Services, LLC, and MDHS anticipates continuing similar service delivery methods.

From January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, MDHS spent approximately $27,096.62 on language services, with Spanish accounting for 97.3% of interpretation calls. The department emphasizes remote interpretation methods, specifically Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) and Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI), and does not require on-site interpreters. Vendors must be able to provide translation services both from foreign languages to English and vice versa, and are required to perform Desktop Publishing (DTP) and ensure ADA accessibility for translated documents.
