About this file

This document is a project plan for the Dotson Creek Road Landslide remediation project in Wise County, Virginia. The work consists of reclaiming a landslide directly under VA Route 645 that was caused by drainage from an abandoned underground mine. The project involves excavating loose and unstable material, installing drainage infrastructure, backfilling the excavated area with riprap and aggregate, and repaving the roadway. Key elements include removing and disposing of existing drain pipes, installing an underdrain system, constructing a riprap buttress, and revegetating disturbed areas. Temporary drainage controls, erosion and sediment control measures, and traffic control plans are also detailed. The project is located in Wise County, Virginia and is being conducted by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The plan outlines the construction sequencing, quantities of materials such as riprap, aggregate, and soil, and technical details for items like culverts, ditches, and paving. Pricing and contracting information is not provided, but the document indicates this is a state and local government contract opportunity. Funding sources and requirements are not specified.
