About this file
The document is a Notice of Intended Decision to Enter into a Single Source Contract (PUR 7778) issued by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for HVAC Preventative Maintenance services at the Lake City District Office and Jacksonville Urban Office. The Department intends to award a single source contract to Johnson Controls, Inc., who has been maintaining the HVAC system since 1996 when it was installed under an Energy Services Contract. The HVAC equipment is connected to the Metasys Automation System, which is a proprietary product of Johnson Controls, requiring their factory-trained and certified technicians to perform the necessary maintenance and repair work.
The intended contract price is $50,000. Johnson Controls, Inc. is the sole provider of the Department's HVAC equipment, maintenance, and Metasys Automation System, as it is a patented product. The Department has determined that Johnson Controls, Inc. is the only vendor capable of maintaining the complex and networked HVAC system and Metasys Automation System.
