About this file
This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Two. The Department intends to enter into a single source purchase with Temple Inc. for connected vehicle equipment, including road-side units, on-board units, operating system, cloud-based communications system, and ancillary components, for FDOT's Regional Advanced Mobility Elements (FRAME) project. The required equipment will be used to provide Intersection Geometry Mapping, Signal Phasing and Timing, Emergency Vehicle Preemption, and Transit Signal Priority information to vehicles. The contract term is three years, and the estimated dollar amount is $2,000,000.
Temple Inc. is the only provider of the cloud-based connected vehicle technology required for the FRAME project, which was tested and validated at the Traffic Engineering Research Lab and a permitted test site. The justification for the single source acquisition is that Temple Inc.'s proprietary "Glance" product is the only solution available in a cloud-based environment that can meet the Department's performance and compatibility requirements.
