About this file
This document is the DoD Anti-Ram Vehicle Barrier List for Entry Control Facilities and Access Control Points, dated March 2026, published by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Protective Design Center 1616.
The list identifies certified active and passive vehicle barriers tested to ASTM F2656 and Department of State SD STD-02.01 standards for use at DoD Entry Control Facilities (ECFs) and Access Control Points (ACPs). Active barriers include bollards, drop-arm beams, gates, nets, post-and-beam systems, wedges, and cables, with ratings from K4 to M50 based on vehicle type, impact velocity, and penetration depth. Passive barriers encompassing bollards, cables, portable systems, post-and-beam configurations, fences, and inertial barriers are similarly rated. The document specifies that barriers must be installed in their tested configuration without modifications; any deviation requires new testing and approval. Interpolation between tested barrier lengths is permitted only as documented in individual barrier remarks. Each barrier entry includes the model/description, manufacturer/designer, penetration rating, and specific remarks regarding installation requirements, spacing, and applicability constraints. Appendix A highlights important vehicle barrier characteristics and demonstrated vulnerabilities, Appendix B provides test procedure vehicle characteristics and kinetic energy ratings, and Appendix C explains criteria for barrier inclusion and "as tested" construction requirements. The list is updated semi-annually in March and September, with compliant reports required one month prior to publication for inclusion on subsequent lists.
