About this file
This document is a Timber Sale Prescription from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources - Forest Resources Division for a Timber Sales Prep project in Compartment 64 covering 268.1 acres in Luce County, Michigan. The project involves paint line and area calculations, marking, and cruising in accordance with the detailed prescription. Contract work can begin immediately and must be completed by 09/01/2024. The prescription outlines specific treatment and management objectives for 12 stands within the compartment, with a focus on clearcuts, crown thinnings, and seed tree harvests to regenerate and improve the forest. Detailed cruise specifications, including plot layouts and sample tree ratios, are provided for each stand.
Payment will be based on the estimated 268.1 acres. The contractor may not have more than two markers in one cruise unit without prior approval, and each marker must have an assigned area to mark. The DNR will supply the paint, and the contractor's work schedule must coincide with the DNR's schedule for paint supply. Deliverables include a list of names for marking and cruising, a summary of paint used, and all cruise and GPS data uploaded to the DNR's systems.
