About this file
This is a bid specification document for the Maine Department of Motor Vehicles outlining a phased renovation project involving the provision and installation of Herman Miller office panels and surfaces. The project is divided into four phases: Phase 1 (Admin Area), Phase 2 (Motor Carriers), Phase 3 (Dealer/Titles), and Phase 4 (Registration). Each phase requires bidders to submit separate quotes for both product and construction components. Phase 1 includes new panels, electrical connectors, and "as new" surfaces. Phases 2 through 4 require "as new" Herman Miller components and electrical connectors. Construction services involve dismantling existing workstations, relocating lateral and vertical files and related equipment, installing new carpeting, and reassembling workstations in the new configuration. All work must be completed during non-work hours, including evenings and weekends, to minimize disruption to DMV operations.
The specification document does not provide explicit information regarding pricing terms, bid submission deadlines, site visit requirements, bidders' conferences, award dates, contract duration, renewal options, set-asides, incumbent contractor status, or funding sources and amounts. Bidders should anticipate that project execution will require coordination with DMV staff to ensure work is scheduled during off-hours and that proper workspace restoration occurs following each phase's completion.
