About this file

This document is a Data Item Description (DID) for Government Furnished Material (GFM) reporting, specifically numbered DI-PSSS-80727A and approved on September 16, 2019. The DID establishes a standardized format for contractors to document and track government-provided inventory materials, with specific requirements for reporting details about government inventory items across different contract line items.

The reporting must include comprehensive information for each GFM item, such as contract number, contract line item number (CLIN), National Stock Number (NSN), part number, inventory requirements, quantity on hand, unit price, existing government inventory levels, and proposed actions for excess inventory. Contractors must organize the report first by contract number, then by CLIN/ELIN, and finally by GFM line item. The report can be submitted in electronic media specified by the acquirer or in the contractor's preferred format, with the primary goal of providing visibility into government material inventories.
