About this file
This document is a federal contract provision (252.225-7055) concerning Representation Regarding Business Operations with the Maduro Regime, dated May 2022. The provision implements Section 890 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020, prohibiting the Department of Defense (DoD) from entering contracts with entities that have business operations with the Venezuelan government not recognized as legitimate by the U.S. government.
The provision requires offerors to represent that they: (1) do not have any business operations with authorities of the Maduro regime or the Venezuelan government not recognized as legitimate by the U.S. government, and (2) possess a valid license to operate in Venezuela issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the Department of the Treasury. Failure to meet these conditions would disqualify an offeror from receiving a DoD contract related to products or services involving Venezuela.
