About this file

This is a Design Build Project Advertisement from the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) and Department of Corrections for the Macomb Correctional Facility. The project involves a design/build upgrade of the existing propane plant, specifically replacing/installing a propane blender system that includes a Venturi mixing system capable of supplying 30 MM Btu per hour at 8 pounds of pressure, propane flow pumps, and a propane water bath vaporization unit. The mandatory walk-through inspection is scheduled for Thursday, June 20th, 2019 at 10:00 am EST at the facility located at 34625 26 Mile Road in Lenox Township, with bid proposals due on July 3rd, 2019 at 2:00 pm EST. Questions will be accepted until June 24th at noon, and bidders must comply with federal and state agency codes and safety regulations.

The project requires 5% bid security and does not mandate LEIN checks since the work will be outside the security zone. Bidders must submit design recommendations to restore the existing propane system to full operational status, with all necessary gas piping, electrical connections, and grounding modifications. The project will require permits and approvals from the State of Michigan's Bureau of Construction Codes and Bureau of Fire Services. Bid documents and results can be obtained through the SIGMA Michigan procurement website, with the project director being Chris Mustafa Bahjet, who can be contacted at (517) 749-7519 or Bahjetc@Michigan.gov.
