About this file

This document outlines delivery requirements for food products to a federal facility, specifically the Bureau of Prisons (BOP). All deliveries must be palletized unless prior arrangements are negotiated with warehouse staff. Temperature control is critical: non-frozen perishable foods must arrive between 34°F and 40°F, canned goods above 34°F and not frozen, and frozen foods at 0°F or below. Any product showing evidence of prior thawing will be rejected. All certified religious diet items, particularly Kosher items, must bear the appropriate symbol on individual packages and comply with BOP National Menu Specifications; items lacking proper certification will be refused.

The receiving process includes rigorous inspection and testing protocols. Receipt of delivery may be conditional for up to three days to allow adequate examination and testing, with items failing to meet specifications subject to refusal. Conditionally received items found unacceptable must be picked up by the vendor at vendor expense within two days of notification. If products are not retrieved within two weeks, the warehouse staff will dispose of them at the vendor's cost. Some items may require thawing and cooking to verify compliance with specifications.
