About this file
This document specifies delivery requirements for food products to a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) facility. All deliveries must be palletized unless alternative arrangements have been pre-approved by warehouse staff. Temperature control requirements are strictly enforced: non-frozen perishable foods must arrive between 34°F and 40°F, canned goods above 34°F and not frozen, and frozen foods at 0°F or below. Products showing evidence of prior thawing will be rejected outright.
All certified religious diet items, specifically Kosher-marked products, must display the Kosher Symbol on individual packages and comply with BOP National Menu Specifications, or they will be refused. The receiving facility reserves the right to conduct thorough inspections of all items, including thawing and cooking tests to verify specifications compliance. Receipt of delivery may be conditionally accepted for up to three days to allow adequate examination and testing, with items failing to meet specifications subject to refusal. Vendors are responsible for picking up rejected items within two days of notification at their own expense; items not retrieved within two weeks will be disposed of by warehouse staff without further liability.
