About this file
This document outlines delivery requirements for food products to a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) facility. All deliveries must be palletized unless prior warehouse staff approval is obtained. Temperature-controlled delivery is mandatory: non-frozen perishable foods must arrive between 34°F and 40°F, canned goods above 34°F and unfrozen, and frozen foods at 0°F or below. Products showing evidence of prior thawing will be automatically refused. Certified religious diet items must be individually marked with the Kosher Symbol and comply with BOP National Menu Specifications.
The facility reserves the right to closely inspect all items, including thawing and cooking products to verify specifications compliance. Conditional receipt is permitted for up to three days to allow adequate examination and testing, with non-compliant items subject to refusal. Vendors must retrieve conditionally received items found unacceptable at their own expense within two days of notification. If products remain unpicked after two weeks, the warehouse staff will dispose of them at vendor cost.
