About this file

This is a delivery requirements document for a federal contract opportunity related to certified food products for the Federal Bureau of Prisons' Federal Correctional Complex Hazelton in West Virginia. The document outlines specific temperature and handling requirements for food deliveries.

The requirements specify that all deliveries must be palletized unless pre-arranged with warehouse staff. Temperature requirements are strictly defined: non-frozen perishables must be between 34-40°F, canned goods above 34°F (not frozen), and frozen foods at 0°F or below. Products showing signs of prior thawing will be refused. Religious diet items must display the Kosher Symbol on individual packages and comply with BOP National Menu Specifications. The document details inspection procedures, including a three-day conditional receipt period for examination and testing. Vendors must pick up rejected items within two days of notification at their expense, or items will be disposed of after two weeks if not retrieved. This solicitation (15B12125Q00000013) is set aside for small businesses, with quotes due March 4, 2025, and anticipated award date of March 31, 2025.
