About this file

This document is an attachment (Attachment B) containing photographic documentation and detailed recommendations for exhibit repairs and modifications at Gulf Islands National Seashore. The recommendations include multiple specific exhibit maintenance tasks such as:

Repair and restoration activities include repairing a brick shelf and touching up surrounding wall (page 40), repainting exhibit walls a darker color, purchasing a new whiteboard, reinstalling a wood statue, replacing/repairing lighting in artifact cases, removing outdated interactive monitors, and installing new tactile models. Additional modifications involve creating new exhibit panels, updating braille text to replace references to "Gulf of Mexico" with "Gulf of America", installing new beacons with audio descriptions throughout the exhibit area, and refreshing the auditorium with new carpet and paint. The recommendations are comprehensive and appear designed to modernize and improve the visitor experience by updating exhibit content, interactive elements, and overall presentation of the museum space.
