About this file
This document outlines requirements for prevailing wages on federal construction contracts under the Davis-Bacon Act. It specifies that contractors must pay all laborers and mechanics employed on covered projects no less than the basic hourly rate and fringe benefits listed in the applicable Davis-Bacon wage decision. Overtime is to be paid at one and one-half times the basic hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek. Apprentice rates only apply to those registered in approved apprenticeship programs. Contract payments may be withheld and liquidated damages or other sanctions applied if contractors do not meet the wage and overtime requirements. Affected employees are provided information on filing complaints with the Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division.
The related federal opportunity is a solicitation from the Department of Homeland Security Coast Guard for repair work on main steam pit steam and condensate piping at an unspecified base.
