About this file

This is Amendment 3 to the DARPA Young Faculty Award (YFA) 2025 Research Announcement (RA), which adds new language regarding student eligibility to Section IV. The amendment specifically encourages proposers to include U.S. Person graduate students (U.S. citizens or Green Card holders) in supporting roles on projects, while clarifying that this inclusion will not affect evaluation criteria or award selection.

The underlying YFA program, managed by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), targets rising junior research faculty in academia and non-profit institutions who have not previously received DARPA funding. Operating under CFDA 12.910 (Research and Technology Development), the program provides funding through cooperative agreements to develop innovative research supporting DoD capabilities and DARPA's mission of preventing technological surprise for national security. The program specifically aims to cultivate the next generation of national security-focused researchers.
