About this file
This document is an Abstract Template for the DARPA Generative Optogenetics (GO) Working Group Special Notice (DARPA-SN-26-27). The template provides comprehensive instructions for submitting a 5-page abstract for establishing working groups in three critical topic areas: Biosecurity, Regulatory Policy, and Commercialization. Proposers must include specific sections: Executive Summary, Background and Expertise, Scope of Work, and Basis of Estimate, with recommended lengths for each section.
The abstract must outline how the proposed working group will support responsible development, regulation, and commercialization of GO technologies, which have potential revolutionary applications in defense, agriculture, biomanufacturing, and space exploration. Proposers are required to submit an abstract before a full proposal, with DARPA reviewing and either inviting or declining further proposal submission. The document specifies technical requirements such as using 12-point font, 1-inch margins, PDF or Word format, and includes a mandatory cover sheet detailing contact information, estimated costs, and performance period. Honorariums are not permitted for compensation, and all costs must be explicitly incorporated into the estimate.
