The lease is strategically important for enhancing employee safety by providing uninterrupted communication services in field operations.
The justification emphasizes the unique characteristics of the Cal Fire/DGS communication sites, including their critical geographical positioning, existing infrastructure, and line-of-sight connectivity. Market research concluded that no alternative sites meet the operational requirements due to terrain, elevation, and existing infrastructure investments. The procurement will be conducted under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) for simplified acquisitions, with the contract renewal following a previous agreement. The solicitation number is 140L1225P0062, with an anticipated award date of July 25, 2025, to the STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES.
