About this file
This document is Addendum 2 for a project by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation - Niagara Region, specifically for the Letchworth State Park Entrance Monuments and Paving project (General Project Number D006425). The addendum, dated October 14, 2025, provides critical updates and instructions for bidders, including two key items: first, a reference to sheet L215A detailing the proposed location and specification for a new flagpole, and second, important permit and coordination requirements for the project. The contractor will be required to obtain a NYSDOT Use and Occupancy and Highway Work Permit for work at the Mt. Morris and Portageville Entrances, and must coordinate closely with NYS Parks due to archaeological sensitivities at the Mt. Morris Entrance location.
The accompanying site plan image shows aerial views of the Letchworth State Park entrance area, with marked locations for site improvements. The project will involve specific archaeological monitoring during signage and tree installations, with the contractor mandated to use a mini excavator or augers and coordinate closely with NYS Parks to ensure an archaeological monitor is present during all work. Bidders are explicitly instructed to acknowledge receipt of this addendum in their bid forms, with a warning that failure to do so may result in disqualification. The project appears to be focused on enhancing the park's entrance areas, including monument and paving improvements, with careful attention to preserving the site's archaeological integrity.
