About this file

This pre-solicitation notice seeks iPSC-derived human dopaminergic and glutamatergic neurons from a single source. Specifically, the National Institute on Drug Abuse intends to award a purchase order to Fujifilm Cellular Dynamics Inc. by March 29, 2024 for ICell DopaNeurons and ICell GlutaNeurons. These customized neurons, differentiated from protocols licensed from Memorial Sloan Kettering, will be used by the Tissue Bioprinting Lab within the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences to develop a 3D in vitro neuronal model for drug screening. Interested parties may respond by March 19, 2024 with evidence of their ability to fulfill the requirements using OEM-certified service engineers and proprietary software as well as provide OEM parts and components. Responses must include the offeror's UEI, TIN, and small business certification.

NON-COMPETITIVE

INTRODUCTION

PURSUANT TO FAR Subpart 5.2—Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions, THIS IS A PRE-

SOLICITATION NOTICE OF A PROPOSED CONTRACT TO ACTION.

THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NON-COMPETITIVE NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A CONTRACT

OR PURCHASE ORDER WITHOUT PROVIDING FOR FULL OR OPEN COMPETITION (INCLUDING

BRAND-NAME).

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Office of Acquisition (OA) at the National Insitutes of Health (NIH) on behalf of the Tissue Bioprinting Lab (TBPL) within Divison of Preclinical Innovation (DPI) within the National Center for Advancing Translatinal Sciences (NCATS) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order for ICell DopaNeurons and ICell GlutaNeurons, to Fujif ilm Cellular Dynamics Inc. 465 Science Dr, Madison, WI 53711. These are custom neurons and Fujif ilm utilizes their factory-certif ied service engineers to service them. Fujifilm Cellular Dynamic, Inc. does not certify or authorize any third parties to service their systems within North America and does not resell its parts and components to other vendors to use.

NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (NAICS) CODE

The intended procurement is classif ied under NAICS code 541714 – Research and Development in Biotechnology (except Nanobiotechnology) Size Standard of 1000 employees

REGULATORY AUTHORITY

The resultant contract will include all applicable provisions and clauses of the Federal acquisition Requlation (FAR) currently in ef fect at https://www.acquisition.gov/

STATUTORY AUTHORITY

This acquisition is conducted under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13— Simplif ied Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1 (b) (1), Soliciting f rom a single source.

DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT

Project Description The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) is a part of the NIH, with a mission to catalyze the generation of innovative methods and technologies that will enhance the development, testing, and implementation of diagnostics and therapeutics across a wide range of human diseases and conditions. A significant emphasis of NCATS is the rapid development of effective therapies for patients diagnosed with these conditions. NCATS is directly addressing this problem by discovering new technologies and other approaches that could signif icantly accelerate the process of developing and https://www.acquisition.gov/ deploying solutions that all translational researchers can use. iCell Dopa and Gluta Neurons are iPS cell-derived human midbrain floorplate dopaminergic and glutamatergic neurons respectively, differentiated in protocols licensed and adapted from the Lorenz Studer lab (Memorial Sloan Kettering) and industrialized for scale at FCDI. They are fully differentiated, >70% pure midbrain neurons, expressed relevant neuronal markers. These neurons are appropriate for electrophysiological testing invitro also compatible to wide range of biochemical and cell-based assays like cell viability, cell mitophagy, calcium signaling, neurites outgrowth. The objective of this procurements is to use these iPSC derived human mature neurons in 3D invitro circuitry model to get in vivo relevance interims of morphology, network formation and mainly functionality in pharmacological assays.

Purpose and Objectives The Tissue Bioprinting Lab (TBPL) within the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) Division of Pre-Clinical Innovation (DPI) dedicated to addressing scientif ic and technological challenges, specifically, aims to obtain iPSC derived Dopaminergic and Glutamatergic Neuronal cells, which is essential for the 3D invitro neuronal model for drug screening. This project will require ICell DopaNeurons and ICell GlutaNuerons. .

Delivery Date.
