(SOW)

GENERAL INFORMATION

Title of Project:

Maintenance and Repair Agreement for ImageXpress Micro Confocal High-Content Imaging System

Statement of Need and Purpose:

In 2019, the Neuro Therapeutics Development Unit, (NTDU), Translational Neuroscience Center, NINDS purchased the ImageExpress Micro Confocal High-Content Imaging System, serial number 5150079 (IXMC) via purchase order number 75N95019P00700. The IXMC procurement included a one-year parts and labor warranty. The IXMC was purchased to enable the NTDU to obtain high resolution photomicrographs and to conduct high content analysis of neuronal cultures in the photomicrographs. The IXMC has been covered by a Molecular Devices maintenance and service agreement--acquired via purchase order number 75N95021P00023--from 11/22/2020 - 11/21/2024.

To ensure that the IXMC remains fully functioning and the integrity of the system, the NTDU requires a new maintenance and repair agreement that covers preventive maintenance visits, repair services, parts replacement as needed, software updates and troubleshooting support from 11/22/2024 – 11/21/2025. In addition to this base period, the NTDU wishes to include three option years in the contract.

Background Information and Objective:

The NINDS NTDU develops and utilizes automated medium-high throughput assays to identify potential novel therapeutic compounds. In this capacity, the lab screens libraries of rodent and human neuronal cell models of neurodegenerative disorders (i.e., ALS motor neuron disease, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease) and neuronal cell models of neurologic infections from agents like HIV, Zika virus, human endogenous retroviruses and Ebola virus. The NTDU Lab uses the IXMC to conduct this work. The NTDU’s goal is to maintain the IXMC in fully functioning order.

Period of Performance:

The base period of performance and optional periods are as follows:

Base Period: November 22, 2024 through November 21, 2025 Option Period 1: November 22, 2025 through November 21, 2026 Option Period 2: November 22, 2026 through November 21, 2027 Option Period 3: November 22, 2027 through November 21, 2028

Place of Performance:

The place of performance will be at the location of the IXMC: NIH Main Campus, 10 Center Drive, Building 10, Room 7C121, Bethesda, MD 20892.
