About this file
This document is an Emergency Purchase Statement from the Chief Procurement Office for General Services of the State of Illinois related to an emergency procurement by the Illinois Department of Corrections. The Illinois Department of Corrections has selected Aramark Correctional Services, LLC to provide culinary consulting services and assistance, including developing an emergency meal plan that meets national nutritional standards and providing management and consulting services for its implementation. Aramark Correctional Services, LLC was selected due to their extensive experience providing culinary consulting for correctional systems and their ability to rapidly deploy large-scale services to prevent further delays on the project. The expected start date is February 13, 2024, and the estimated end date is May 12, 2024, with an estimated expenditure of $235,200. The procurement is being funded through State Appropriated Funds.
The document indicates that the Illinois Department of Corrections searched for all possible vendors for correctional management services but found only one vendor who lacked the critical experience in correctional management required for this emergency procurement. The procurement was made with as much competition as was practicable under the circumstances, and the agency utilized best efforts to include contractors certified under the Business Enterprise Program.
