About this file
This document is a presentation slide deck titled "CSCI2 Industry Day Charts" that provides details on a federal contract opportunity called the "417th Landing Gear SCMS Supply Chain Integration" (Solicitation Number: SPRHA1-24-R-417SCI).
The key details are:
- The contract is being developed by the 417th Landing Gear Supply Chain Management Squadron (417 SCMS), Enterprise Hill Commodity Council (EHCC), and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation to build upon and improve the previous Landing Gear Collaborative Supply Chain Integration (LG-CSCI) program.
- The contract will be a single award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a 5-year base period and 5-year option. It is anticipated to be a small business set-aside with a trade-off source selection.
- The primary goals are to improve on-time delivery, optimize production lead times, and increase the industrial base of qualified suppliers, particularly for forged parts which make up about 10% of the 4,500 National Item Identification Numbers (NIINs) in scope.
- The government is seeking industry input on innovative and achievable forging solutions, engineering expertise, and supply chain management capabilities through one-on-one meetings.

Improved on-time delivery standards Stabilize forging ordering processes and interactions with Mills and Forging Houses Right Sized Production Lead Times (PLT) Supply chain needs accurate lead times and on-time delivery Expansion of the Industrial Base (Increased qty of Qualified Suppliers) Maintain 95% or greater MA for DLA consumable parts
Program Goals
Approximately 10% of NIINs require forgings Lack of long-term proactive interaction/forecasting with the steel mills and forging houses Low volume orders result in sporadic production and long times USAF is a low priority at forging houses because of our purchasing behaviors Raw Material, especially steel, is sometimes not readily available Forging constraint solutions will be solicited as part of the Technical proposal
Forging Constraints
CSCI2 Items Approx. 4500 NIINs Technical Requirements Technical/financial solution to forging constraints Proactive investment/provisioning of long lead items Proactive collaboration with forging houses and steel mills Forging die management Landing Gear Engineering expertise Supply chain integration / vendor management Program Scope / Anticipated Requirements
