Please see Attachment Q – for a complete listing of Definitions and Acronyms.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
To solicit a full-service credential print solution with facial recognition components that will allow for technological growth of the State of Nevada at a reasonable price.
BACKGROUND
PROJECT
The DMV has been in a contract with the current vendor for seventeen (17) years. Through the years, the DMV has become increasingly aware of our outdated processes, workflows, card security and the increasing costs in keeping up with the needs of the State.
Our current card issuance process has become costly to update due to the large technological advancements made since the contracts implementation. Our card issuance processes has become confining which limits the DMV in the assistance of the residents of Nevada. Our Driver’s Licenses, Commercial Driver’s Licenses, Identification Cards, as well as a variety of other specialty cards, run a larger risk of being counterfeited the longer our card remains with outdated security features and card stock.
AGENCY
The NV DMV is comprised of seven divisions dealing with six functional areas. A copy of the organizational chart is included in Attachment P – NV DMV Department Organizational Chart. The functional areas are comprised of: fiscal, vehicle registration/title/insurance verification, driver’s license, motor vehicle industry regulation, motor carrier registration, and fuel tax collection. There are 18 field offices statewide with the largest metropolitan offices in the Las Vegas valley and in Reno. There are approximately 1,200 employees statewide with the majority within the Field Services Division.
