About this file
This is an Artificial Intelligence Use Integration Parameters document issued by the U.S. Wildland Fire Service, Department of the Interior, for the Color Country and Paria River Fire Management Unit (CPD) in conjunction with a related State of Utah Division of Purchasing Invitation for Bid (IFB) for archeological survey services. The CPD AI Parameters document establishes mandatory requirements for contractors working on CPD materials who utilize generative AI platforms, particularly in relation to Cultural Resource Management activities. The related state and local contract opportunity seeks to procure archeological survey services in Kane County, Utah, in the area between Hildale, Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, and Mt. Carmel Junction. The Wildlife conducting procurement unit indicates this is a multiple contract award opportunity to the highest scoring, responsive, and responsible vendors per the AVL (Approved Vendor List) for Archaeology scoring system. No mandatory site visit is required, and participation is limited to vendors on the approved archaeology vendor list.
Contractors engaged through this procurement must comply with Department of the Interior AI Policy when using generative AI platforms for any work involving CPD materials. All AI-generated, edited, or altered materials must include proper citations, and contractors must verify accuracy and factual integrity of AI outputs before submission to the CPD Cultural Lead. Critically, contractors are prohibited from uploading confidential, sacred, or restricted cultural resource data to publicly accessible generative AI platforms and must utilize only secure, enterprise-level generative AI platforms with business accounts. Contractors must include a statement in project reports identifying which generative AI platform was used. Vendors must guarantee pricing through project completion, with award determinations based on scoring through the approved vendor list system.
