About this file

This document is an Executive Order issued by the Governor of Illinois, J.B. Pritzker, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Executive Order mandates certain COVID-19 protections for contractors, including the use of face coverings, COVID-19 vaccinations, or COVID-19 testing when working in indoor public places, healthcare facilities, schools, institutions of higher education, and state-owned and operated congregate facilities. Vendors must adhere to the requirements of the Executive Orders as applied by the Agency, which may also implement additional vaccination or testing requirements.

The Executive Order rescinds certain prior Executive Orders, maintains face covering requirements in specific settings, and clarifies that it does not prohibit individuals from choosing to wear face coverings or public/private entities from requiring face coverings in certain settings. The Executive Order also includes a savings clause regarding the severability of its provisions.
