About this file
This is a specifications and pricing document for an annual commodity contract issued by the State of Maine for the procurement of MSA Sirius Multigas Detectors. The contract covers five units of gas detection equipment configured with specific technical requirements, including a 10.6 eV PID lamp, LEL pentane sensor, oxygen, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen sulfide detection capabilities, along with accessories such as sampling lines, carrying cases, and charging equipment. The detectors are identified by part number A-Sirius-AL111C0211B001S, and no substitutions are permitted due to equipment compatibility and functionality requirements across multi-team operations. The contract is structured as a three-year commodity agreement with an anticipated annual bulk purchase delivery schedule to an unmanned warehouse facility in Augusta, Maine. Delivery must be coordinated at least 24 hours in advance, and the contractor is required to follow specific notification procedures and delivery protocols outlined in individual delivery orders.
The estimated total contract value is specified in the document, with pricing on a per-item delivery basis. Contractors must accept credit card payments as a form of payment with no surcharges allowed, regardless of payment method selected by the State. The contract includes a thirty-day cancellation clause that permits the Director of the Division of Purchases to terminate with written notice, as well as an extension provision allowing the purchasing director to extend the contract period beyond the initial expiration date with contractor consent. The commodity contract is open to Maine municipalities, enabling local emergency management teams to purchase equipment at state-negotiated pricing, thereby extending the purchasing power and accessibility of the agreement beyond state use alone.
