Both units require herbicide application and must achieve a 90% success rate by September 2025, with any necessary replanting completed by May 15, 2026. The bid deadline is January 6, 2025, and a mandatory site visit is required prior to bidding, coordinated through Travis Kruse at the Lake LaSuAn Work Unit.

A. Services to be provided. (Refer to Figure 2)

a. Unit 1 Services to be performed.

· Unit 1 consists of tall fescue that has been mowed to 8” high. This area will be planted with a variety of native potted trees in the spring of 2025. Prior to tree planting and by May 15th, 2025, a combination of glyphosate and a pre-emergent herbicide will need to be applied to produce a 3’x3’ weed free area centered where each tree will be planted. This can also be applied in 3’ wide strips.

· Three-gallon potted trees will be planted 10’ apart covering the entire 2.64 acres by May 15th, 2025.

· All trees will need 60” tree shelters installed at the time of planting.

· Between August 15th and September 15th, 2025, Unit 1 will be inspected by the cooperator and Contract Administrator.

· At least a 90% success rate must be achieved, or the contractor will be responsible for replanting like trees by May 15th, 2026, to acquire the 90% success rate.

· A follow up application of a pre-emergent herbicide labeled for tree plantings must be applied by May 15th, 2026, to produce bare ground under each tree to maintain a 3’x3’ weed-free area. This can also be applied in 3’ wide strips.

· Tree species for Unit 1 will be native to the area and agreed upon by the Contract Administrator.

b. Unit 2 Services to be performed.

· Unit 2 consists of clover that has been mowed down to 6” high. The entire area has been roto-tilled three feet wide every 10 feet. The tilled strips have also been deep tilled with a single shank sub-soiler to at least 12” deep in November of 2024. This area will be planted with a variety of native bare root trees in the spring of 2025. Prior to tree planting and by May 15th, 2025, a combination of glyphosate (if necessary) and a preemergence herbicide labeled for tree plantings will need to be applied to each prepared tree strip. The strips must be sprayed three feet wide.

· Native bare root trees will be planted ten feet apart in every tree strip throughout the entire unit by May 15th, 2025.

· All trees will need 60” tree shelters installed at time of planting.

· Between August 15th and September 15th, 2025, Unit 2 will be inspected by the cooperator and Contract Administrator.

· At least a 90% success rate must be achieved, or the contractor will be responsible for replanting like trees by May 15th, 2026, to acquire the 90% success rate.

· A follow up application of a pre-emergence herbicide labeled for tree plantings must be applied by May 15th, 2026, to maintain 3’ wide weed-free tree strips.

· Tree species for Unit 2 will be native to the area and agreed upon by the Contract Administrator.
