About this file
This is a contractor certification form required for federal contracts with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
The certification requires contractors to comply with all provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, as amended, and related laws enforced by the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the U.S. Department of Labor. Contractors must not knowingly employ, contract with, or subcontract with illegal aliens or foreign nationals who are not in compliance with U.S. immigration status requirements. Contractors are required to comply with all "E-Verify" requirements under Executive Order 12989 and applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations. Subcontractors must provide similar certifications to the prime contractor. Non-compliance can result in termination of the contract for breach, prohibition from working at the contractor's place of business providing VA services, and may form the basis for debarment. The form requires signature, date, typed name and title, and company name. The certification carries legal weight, as making false or fraudulent certifications may result in prosecution under 18 U.S.C. 1001.
