9. GENERAL UNCLASSIFIED DESCRIPTION OF THIS PROCUREMENT
Perform and manage the collection, analysis, forecasting, tailoring, and communication of atmospheric and space weather conditions 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Provide meteorological services in support of the 88th Air Base Wing, 445th Airlift Wing (445 AW), transient aircraft, National Airborne Operations Center (NAOC), command and control activities and missions. Provide airfield weather services, mission integration, resource protection, and staff weather services in support of HQ AFMC, 88 ABW, and other customers as needed.
Augment the base's automated observation system as necessary and provide manual observing, recording, and dissemination of weather data and information. Perform manual observations when automated systems fail or weather criteria governed in AFIs dictates the use of manual observations. Use fixed meteorological sensors to measure and evaluate atmospheric and space weather conditions. Use satellite and radar imagery, computer generated products, and weather communication equipment and instruments to analyze atmospheric and space conditions.

Issue Terminal Aerodrome Forecast (TAF) every eight hours with 30 hours valid times. The duty forecasters will provide TAF analyze and predict environmental conditions relating to mission critical thresholds in the terrestrial and space environments. Forecast atmospheric and space weather conditions.
Coordinate, issue, and relay forecasted and observed weather watches, warnings, and advisories IAW AFIs. Issue observed warnings and advisories to alert users to mission critical weather conditions. Exploit weather analysis and data to enhance operations, training, and resource protection.

5291 Skeel Avenue, Bldg 206, Room 200 Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433-5232 Enter general unclassified description of this procurement.: Perform and manage the collection, analysis, forecasting, tailoring, and communication of atmospheric and space weather conditions 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Provide meteorological services in support of the 88th Air Base Wing, 445th Airlift Wing (445 AW), transient aircraft, National Airborne Operations Center (NAOC), command and control activities and missions. Provide airfield weather services, mission integration, resource protection, and staff weather services in support of HQ AFMC, 88 ABW, and other customers as needed.
Augment the base's automated observation system as necessary and provide manual observing, recording, and dissemination of weather data and information. Perform manual observations when automated systems fail or weather criteria governed in AFIs dictates the use of manual observations. Use fixed meteorological sensors to measure and evaluate atmospheric and space weather conditions. Use satellite and radar imagery, computer generated products, and weather communication equipment and instruments to analyze atmospheric and space conditions.
Issue Terminal Aerodrome Forecast (TAF) every eight hours with 30 hours valid times. The duty forecasters will provide TAF analyze and predict environmental conditions relating to mission critical thresholds in the terrestrial and space environments. Forecast atmospheric and space weather conditions.
Coordinate, issue, and relay forecasted and observed weather watches, warnings, and advisories IAW AFIs. Issue observed warnings and advisories to alert users to mission critical weather conditions. Exploit weather analysis and data to enhance operations, training, and resource protection.
