Description/Specifications/Statement of Work
Statement of Work
SECTION 1 - BACKGROUND
Agilent is the manufacturer of the GC (gas-chromatography) model 8890. The system is an autonomous analyzer with single and triple quadrupole and Q-TOF GC-MS compatibility. Currently, Theater Preventive Medicine Flight (TPMF) has one Agilent 8890 GC in the lab. This device is dedicated to polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) analysis in water and oil. A second 8890 is required to expand the lab s capability to include ' haloaceticacid analysis (HAA5). If using one machine, chemical feed lines and sample trays would need to be purged, changed, and extensively cleaned to avoid contamination. This would hinder the overall effectiveness of TPMF's requirement to provide a chemical analysis result to its customers within 10 business days. TPMF directly supports 14 units across the INDOPACOM region in environmental monitoring and industrial health and safety as the only OCONUS environmental analytical lab in the USAF.
SECTION 2 - SCOPE OF WORK
Tasks/Requirements:
The Agilent GC 8890 will be used for Drinkwater and environmental analysis, specifically for haloacetic acids(HAA5). This analysis is necessary for environmental hazard monitoring in support of base operations and ensuring health and safety for base personnel. This service would support 14 PACAF units across the INDOPACOM region.
The gas chromatography system must be able to complete EPA Method 552.3. The method requires a GC system with an Electron Capture Detector system to quantify the amount of HAA5 for a given sample.
