About this file
This is a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by Comstock Park Public Schools for the purchase and installation of safety and security window film across five school buildings. The RFP requires sealed bids to be submitted by March 15, 2019 at 12:00 noon to the Comstock Park Schools Administrative Office, with an optional pre-bid walk through scheduled for February 18, 2019 at 9:00 am. The work must be completed prior to August 15, 2019. The scope includes installation of security window film on numerous windows of varying sizes across Mill Creek Middle School, Pine Island Elementary, Comstock Park High School, Stoney Creek Elementary, and other district facilities, with detailed measurements provided for each location.
The project is funded through a Michigan State Police School Safety Grant. The district seeks bids offering the best materials at the lowest price to maximize the number of windows that can be outfitted within the grant amount. Bidders must provide familial disclosure documentation and certify they are not an Iran Linked Business. Technical specifications require 8 mil thick optically clear polyester film with pressure-sensitive adhesive, meeting various ASTM and safety standards including 400 ft-lbs impact resistance. The installation must include a wet glaze attachment system applied to all four sides of window frames, and bidders must provide references from five schools where they have completed similar installations.
