About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 to the Community Park Improvements Project issued by the Town of Charlemont, Massachusetts, dated June 12, 2026. The addendum clarifies specifications for the athletic court reconstruction project located at 10 School Street. The work encompasses construction of new asphalt playing surfaces with specific finishes, installation of one regulation tennis net assembly meeting USTA standards, two commercial-grade outdoor basketball goal assemblies with powder-coated finishes, and pickleball court striping incorporated as an overlay within the tennis court area using contrasting colored lines. Additional site improvements include ADA-accessible pathways featuring decorative stamped brick pattern with brick-red painted finish applied to asphalt surfaces, and all associated labor, materials, and installation requirements. The project maintains the existing court footprint while accommodating expanded recreational use across multiple sports. Final court layout, colors, and striping configurations are subject to contractor submission and town approval as shop drawings prior to installation.
The addendum confirms that DCAMM certification is not required for this project, as the work is classified as public works construction subject to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M rather than building construction. All bidders must comply with Massachusetts prevailing wage requirements and furnish required bonds and insurance as specified in the contract documents. The Town reserves standard rights to reject bids and waive informalities as permitted by Massachusetts law, with award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Unless otherwise modified by this addendum, all remaining requirements of the original contract documents remain in effect.
