About this file
This document is a detailed specification for Colonial Breeches, updated on January 16, 2021. The breeches are made of broadcloth with a "homespun" appearance, featuring a shaped waistband with a tie back and a drop panel front. They have specific design elements including a 16-inch drop from hip to waist, full-length legs with a Colonial-style button placket, and a 3/4" woven cotton heelguard. The garment comes in waist sizes from 28" to 44" and lengths from 28" to 36", with precise drop panel dimensions provided for each size.
The specification details the lining materials as 65/35 polyester cotton, with acceptable options from Carr Textiles, and requires specific button configurations: 4 "USA" 36-ligne and 10 "USA" 30-ligne wire-eye long-shank buttons with silver oxide and military spec lacquer. Buttons must be sewn on with reinforced thread matching the cloth color. The comprehensive sizing chart and detailed button specifications indicate this is likely a military or historical reenactment uniform component with precise manufacturing requirements.
