About this file

This is a Request for Proposals (RFP) #2026-NPS-001 issued by Newport Public Schools in Rhode Island for College Advisor(s) services. The RFP seeks a full-time college advising corps to work in underserved high schools, focusing on low-income and first-generation students. The advisors will provide admissions and financial-aid advising through in-school and community sessions, with services offered during school hours and evenings. The proposal is due on August 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM EST, with a proposed contract term of two fiscal years (FY 2025-2026 & FY 2026-2027).

The RFP requires proposals to be submitted in two separate envelopes - a technical proposal without cost information and a separate cost proposal. Minimum criteria include experience with the college admission process and working in underserved high schools. The advisors will collaborate with school counselors, teachers, and administrators to increase college-going rates and support students in identifying, applying to, and successfully enrolling in colleges. Pricing should be broken out in annual increments, and the school system will evaluate both the written proposals and their associated costs when making an award determination.
