About this file
This is a project plans document for the CO OMAD 300(71) Minuteman Missile Access Roads maintenance and improvement initiative. The project, administered by the Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration in coordination with the Air Force Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Program and the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, encompasses roadway improvements on Defense Access Roads located in southwestern Wyoming, southeastern Nebraska, and northeastern Colorado that provide critical access to Minuteman Missile facilities.
The scope of work includes roadway reconditioning and the addition of four inches of aggregate surface course with a maximum width of 24 feet, culvert replacements, and all work to remain on existing roadway bench. The typical section design specifies reconditioning of the existing gravel roadway per Section 303, application of additional aggregate surface course, implementation of a 4 percent crown (or as approved by the Contracting Officer), and tapering of the proposed aggregate surface at applicable locations. All work must comply with the established typical section specifications and remain within the existing roadway footprint.
